About Price Protection

Evaluate DBC impact, automate distributor claims, and settle credits to ERP

A DBC cut creates a liability the moment it takes effect — usually invisible until the claims arrive weeks later.

Upon cost changes Channel AI Price Protection calculates the exposure immediately: per-unit reduction against covered quantity, by distributor and by product, on two bases — what your debits authorize, and what distributors report actually holding. Stale reports are marked stale; stock carrying no active debit is surfaced anyway, because price protection covers the stock, not the paperwork.

Then the claims check themselves. Portal or CSV, both validate against your price change records, and the credit comes from your verified DBC — never the figure claimed. Over-claims against reported holding are flagged, duplicates across routes are caught, and Sales Ops reviews before Finance releases.

Approved credits export as a credit memo for your ERP; confirmations import back and accruals reconcile.

Requires Channel AI Deal Desk.

Highlights

  • Evaluate the impact of a DBC cut: record the price change and the exposure is calculated immediately: per-unit reduction against channel inventory and covered quantity, totaled and drillable to the debits behind it.
  • Exposure by distributor and by product. Know which partners carry the liability and on which parts, so a cut can be scoped, staged or renegotiated instead of simply absorbed.
  • Authorized versus actually held. The same liability measured two ways — what your debits authorize, and what distributors report holding — because where they differ, your true exposure differs too.
  • Stale and uncovered stock called out, not hidden. Inventory reports past your staleness threshold are marked as stale, and channel stock with no active debit behind it is surfaced — it is still covered, so it still costs.
  • Credit computed from your DBC, not the claimed one. Every line validates against your price change records and effective date window, through a distributor portal or CSV import, both checked identically.
  • Claimed quantity checked against reported holding. A claim for more units than last reported is flagged with both figures and the report's age — and when nothing has been reported, nothing is flagged, because absence of data is not evidence.
  • Credits export ready to post. A credit memo file carrying the claim line, price change reference, distributor ERP code, verified and new DBC, credit per unit and approved amount.
